Disappointing
- What did you like most?The location of this DoubleTree is convenient because you're in the center of many attraction spots such as Downtown, Mission Valley, or Convoy. If you have your own car and you're in need to travel on the freeway, the exit is only a few minutes away. Hotel Circle is known for having a variety of different hotels/inns/etc in the area. Despite knowing this, location is somewhat isolated and only within vicinity of other similar businesses which some people may favor instead of being around public spaces such as malls or shopping plazas which are prominent in this area.
- Was there anything you didn't like?I wish I took the time to take pictures of the room but I think I was too in shock considering that I've stayed at a DoubleTree before that wasn't this bad. The furniture in the room was pretty dusty such as the cabinets and tables which makes me think that they weren't wiped down well prior. The drawer of the bedside table would not fully close which was annoying especially when it would get in the way of sitting on the side of the bed. The drawer holding the coffee machine which was part of the TV stand wouldn't fully retract back either which can be a hazard when walking near the TV. When inspecting the bathroom, I noticed there were stains on the side of the tub. At first I thought were just scruff marks, but then I used a baby wipe to see what I was dealing with and scrubbing them a few times made them go away implying it was some sort of dried out stain from who knows what. There were also multiple stains on the floor of various colors but I always try to overlook these since I know they're hard to get rid of. But considering all these things that I couldn't help but notice, either this DoubleTree needs to update their rooms or honestly do a better job of cleaning them thoroughly. I know these are shared spaces and many people go in and out of these rooms, but I've stayed in older hotels that still manage to keep the rooms looking fresh and clean with what they got. The uncleanliness and state of the room was too a point where I couldn't help by Lysol spray everything. After this stay, I'm pretty disappointed. No amount of cookies would make me consider staying in a DoubleTree again if I'll be quite honest.
